Our Story
What would you wish for if you had everything you wanted? What would you wish for if you didn't?
If you could be someone's fairy godmother for a day what would be first on your list?
My family is so blessed to have so much in life. Family, friendship, security, laughter, a hug. Every night while I read a book to my children, I can't help but think that there are other children out there who do not have that. The love of a family, the security of a place to call home, or even the simplest of things like new shoes, clothing....a book. I want to help, I want to make sure I can reach as many of those children as I can and make them smile, at least once. Make them aware that there are people who care and that they may feel alone, but if they reach out far enough there will be someone there to help. Even just by helping grant them a simple wish for things that I take for granted every day.
My mother was a foster child and was in the system from age 6 to 18. She had 5 siblings who were a seperated except for one. Even though she had a foster family, she shared them with 9 other foster children. She didn't have the love that she needed as a child to make her feel secure. She didn't have the amazing Christmas mornings that I had, that my children now have. Some times it is the simple things that matter more than anything.
Please help our family grant as many wished as we can by Memorial Day Weekend. Our Goal is to grant 30 wishes, which means we need to raise about $1800. Your help and support can make all the difference in the life of a child in need.
