At One Simple Wish, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal information is handled in a safe and responsible manner.
As part of the normal operation of our services, we may need to collect information about potential donors and potential Community Partners as well as individuals who are making a wish through our Community Partners. This Privacy Policy describes the information we collect and what may happen to that information.
What Information Do We Collect?
In order to use certain services provided on the site you will need to register with us either as a donor (Wish Granter) or Community Partner (Wish Maker). When you register, we will gather information such as your name, company name, mailing address, phone number and email address.
We may also track certain information about how you use our website. In the course of using our site, we automatically track certain information about you. This information may include the URL that you came from (whether this URL is on our site or not), which URL you go to next (whether this URL is on our site or not), what browser you are using, and your Internet Protocol (IP) address. This is a common practice and many sites automatically collect this information.
How Do We Use It?
We use your information in a number of ways. For example, we conduct internal research on our user’s demographics and site usage to better understand how effective our site is and how to improve it. If you opt in to receive a newsletter from us or if you register on our site, we will never share user information with businesses affiliated with One Simple Wish. If you wish to unsubscribe at any time you may do so by clicking on the unsubscribe link in an email or by going to the Contact Us page and sending an email.
Should we need to use your information for a purpose other than to allow you to use the services on our site, we will contact you in advance of this action and obtain your permission.
How Do We Protect Your Information?
We use industry standard technology and efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of your personal identifiable information. These include secure servers and firewalls. All of the user data we collect is protected against unauthorized access. Only authorized employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to this information.
Personal information about individuals who submit wishes through Community Partners will never be shared with any donors or other Community Partners without clear, expressed consent from the individual.
What About "Cookies?"
A "cookie" is a piece of data stored on the user’s hard drive, containing information about the user. We use cookies on our site, but none of them contain any personally identifiable information. In addition, we may decide to use cookies on certain pages of our site. Cookies can help us provide information which is targeted to your interests. Cookies are stored on your hard drive, not on our site. Most cookies are "session cookies," meaning that they are automatically deleted at the end of a session.
What About Links to Third-Party Websites?
Our site sometimes provides links to websites that are operated solely by third parties that are not under our control. This Privacy Statement applies to our site only, and is not intended to describe the privacy policies of any third party sites.

Can Users Update or Change the Information We Collect?
Members can update or change their information by logging into One Simple Wish. Once a user is logged in they will be able to modify their profile.
Will Our Privacy Policy Change in the Future?
We are always improving and updating our website to further enhance your experience. As a result, our policies will continue to evolve. As we implement new technology and provide new services, we will update our Privacy Policy. We encourage you to refer to this page on an ongoing basis for our most current policy and practices.

One Simple Wish is an online wish registry that enables potential donors to grant a wish submitted by a deserving child or family in need through our network of Community Partners.
DONORS (Wish Granters)
Donors may browse wishes on our site without registering, however, in order to grant a wish, potential donors must register. Registration is required so that we may collect personal information needed to fulfill the wish such as donor name and contact information. Donors do not have to consent to have their names and other information shared with our Community Partners. They may choose to keep their information confidential. This option is available upon registration.
By registering with One Simple Wish, potential donors are not entering into any contract or promise of donation.
Once a donor selects a wish they would like to grant, that information is sent to One Simple Wish. The donor will then be contacted, if necessary, by One Simple Wish to make arrangements to receive the donation. At this time the donor is stating that they are interested in fulfilling the product, service or experience requested and/or of sending the monetary value of that product, service or experience to One Simple Wish. However this is not a binding agreement and they may at any time decide not to do so. If this should occur, the wish will be added back to our database of wishes that need to be fulfilled.
If the donor decides to send the actual product or service requested:
As of March 2011, One Simple Wish no longer offers this option.
For service and experience related wishes:
One Simple Wish will make every reasonable effort to arrange for the service or experience to take place between the donor and the Community Partner and/or individual. However if it becomes too difficult to make this arrangement or more than 30 days passes without any progress, One Simple Wish reserves the right to make alternative arrangements to ensure that the service or experience is provided or to apply funds to a new wish. Before any funds are applied to a new wish, One Simple Wish will contact the donor to choose another wish. If the donor does not respond within a reasonable time, approximately two weeks, One Simple Wish will select an alternative wish with criteria as close to the original wish as possible.
If the donor chooses to send the monetary value of the product, service or experience requested:
One Simple Wish makes every effort to provide the donor with the most accurate product, service or experience value available at the time the wish is made and/or granted. If One Simple Wish must purchase the product or service on behalf of the donor, the donor understands that any additional funds will be deposited into an account for One Simple Wish to use towards future donations as well as operating costs such as website database maintenance, shipping fees and others. All funds received by One Simple Wish are used 100% towards furthering the mission of the organization and at no time shall be accepted as profit, in accordance with non-profit organization status. If the funds collected for the product, service or experience are not sufficient enough to cover the total cost, One Simple Wish will use other organization funds to cover the additional expense.
COMMUNITY PARTNERS (Wish Makers)
Wishes are collected through Third Party Partners known as Community Partners. These Community Partners must be recognized and registered nonprofit organizations operating for at least one year. They must provide references and must apply to become a member of our network of Community Partners. All applications are reviewed by One Simple Wish and Community Partners are not eligible to make wishes on behalf of individuals until their applications are approved.
Community Partners understand that by making wishes on behalf of individuals they are certifying that this individual is in fact in need and that they maintain all responsibility if the individual is fraudulent in any manner.
By joining the network of Community Partners, Community Partners recognize that they are entering into a relationship with One Simple Wish that must be maintained for at least one year or until their wishes have been granted. If they sever their relationship with One Simple Wish prior to all wishes being granted, any outstanding wishes will be removed from the website. Community Partner's acknowledge that they are not entering into any other type of partnership, arrangement or agreement with One Simple Wish other than to make wishes on behalf of individuals and to have those wishes granted.
Community Partners agree to have their organization information displayed on One Simple Wish's website and in printed materials including but not limited to brochures, press releases and print advertisements. If at any time a Community Partner decides to sever their relationship with One Simple Wish, Community Partners understand that materials printed before the date the relationship ended may still be used and that those materials may include the Community Partner's organization name and other information. Further, One Simple Wish reserves the right to communicate past affiliation with these organizations to the public.
Community Partners understand that One Simple Wish will contact them once a donor makes a request to fulfill a wish they have submitted. Community Partners agree to be available to arrange for the delivery of the wish during the Community Partner's regular operating hours. One Simple Wish will make every effort to accommodate the schedule of the Community Partner but Community Partners are aware that fulfillment of certain wishes may need to occur on a weekend, in the evening or otherwise outside of the normal operating hours of the Community Partner and that they may need to be available at these times with advance notice.
Community Partners understand that One Simple Wish will make every effort to fulfill a wish within 30 days of the time that wish has been granted and covered by a donation for the full value of the wish.
Community Partners acknowledge that they will not receive any funds from One Simple Wish.
While every effort will be made to do so, One Simple Wish makes no guarantee that all wishes made will be granted.
