The Morris County Youth Shelter provides the residents (there are up to 16 residents) incentive trips for their behavior. Their behavior reflects the level of activities that they are provided. One of the highest level activities is a trip to the nicest and newest local movie theater, AMC Movie Theater at the Rockaway Townsquare Mall.
Although the cost is minimal, we do not always have the funds to provide admission for more than two at a time since the tickets cost $10+ a person.
A wish for the residents is gift cards for admission to the movies. For a fun filled weekend evening at the movies!!

The residents of the Morris County Youth Shelter are between the ages 13-17. There are sixteen beds that hold eight boys and eight girls. The residents are court appointed to our short term facility. The program is short term, while the cases of each individual are worked out properly for each of their unique situations.

The Morris County Youth Shelter provides safe, temporary residential care to at-risk adolescents who are struggling to effectively cope with a myriad of challenges in their lives. These youth are placed at the Morris County Youth Shelter via the family court system due to DYFS removal, abuse and neglect, homelessness, family dysfunction, probation & so on. The Morris County Youth Shelter takes pride in its highly effective structured environment where these at-risk adolescents can increase their educational opportunities and learn new and improved life skills. A large part of our program involves building kids’ self-esteem. A highly successful technique we use is to provide motivational incentives. This encourages them to thrive by allowing the kids to display their talents and individuality in healthy and positive ways. In order for us to do so we need to partner with our friends in the community! While donations of all kinds are imperative to the success of the program; developing meaningful relationships and opportunities for collaboration is our overarching goal. We ask that you consider the kids of the Morris County Youth Shelter and make a donation of your choice.
