Kailyah has used her experiences, even in the hardest times, to approach life with optimism. She has developed the ability to use this perspective to create the best days she can for herself. During her time in foster care, she learned that family doesn’t always need to be blood to be relied on and supportive. She cherishes the connections she was able to create with friends and one loving family in particular that she has stayed close with even after aging out. Kailiyah says, “Foster care has helped shape me into being a kind person to everyone and to love and care for others”.
