Julisa is a former foster youth who entered care at the age of sixteen. She was a high-school dropout and homeless youth who lived in chaos surrounded by violence and gang affiliation. The foster care system was her ticket out of poverty. It offered more stability and the opportunity for Julisa to further her education. She became a single mother by the age of 23. Despite the obstacles she has faced, she graduated high-school, and recently graduated from Riverside City College School of Nursing as a LVN AND passed the very rigorous NCLEX Exam. Julisa's ultimate goal is to earn her BSN and become a RN.
