Strength Based Community Change (SBCC)Jasmine is a determined young adult in extended foster care. She’s studying at Cal State San Bernardino, where she lives in the dorms and is majoring in Arabic Studies. While she finishes her general education courses, she’s discovering her interests and laying the groundwork for her future. Right now, Jasmine isn’t working, but she’s focused on her personal growth. She’s working on getting her driver’s license, which will give her more freedom to enjoy her hobbies like going to the beach, drawing, attending hockey games, and taking guitar and dance classes. For now, she gets around with Uber and rides from family. Jasmine has plans to move back in with her grandmother while continuing her studies. Her journey shows her strength and dedication to creating a meaningful and independent life.
Jasmine has an incredible love for art, and drawing is truly her special way of expressing herself. Growing up in foster care has brought its fair share of emotional challenges, but art has become her safe haven—a place where she can work through her feelings that are often hard to put into words. It would be wonderful to support her by gifting her some Copic markers. These are high-quality, professional-grade tools that could really help her enhance her artistic skills. Plus, having these markers would encourage her to create a routine that’s not only constructive but also lots of fun! Getting lost in the world of drawing would be a fantastic way for her to take a break from screens and social media. It's such a positive and calming outlet that could bring her joy and a sense of purpose. Overall, these markers would be a perfect boost for her emotional well-being and personal growth, allowing her to thrive in so many beautiful ways!
