Bush is a freshman studying Mechanical Engineering who has endured significant hardship, including losing both of his parents in 2020 during COVID-19 and navigating overwhelming grief while supporting his siblings without extended family. That year left him feeling deeply isolated, and although the sharpest pain has eased, he still wishes he could see his parents one more time. Through therapy, he has been working hard to heal and is in a much better place than where he began. Despite everything he’s faced, Bush has found joy in his hobbies and community—he’s an active member of the campus Tabletop Club, where Dungeons & Dragons has brought him new friendships, and he enjoys gaming, tending to his garden, and spending time with his dogs, all of which give him comfort and a sense of stability.

Bush is requesting a wireless controller for his gaming console. Before his parents passed away, they often gave him games to lift his spirits or as birthday gifts. Unfortunately, he no longer has a reliable controller to enjoy those games, and he hopes a new one will allow him to play them again—cherishing the memories and connection to the parents who gave them to him.
