Ashley is a spirited young girl. Ashley has been matched with her Big Sister Kristy for 5 years this December. Over the past 4 years Kristy has been a large support for her and continues to encourage Ashley to dream big! When Kristy asked Ashley what she would like to do for an upcoming special day Ashley jokingly stated she would like “a trip to California, to sit on the beach in the sunny weather.” To which Kristy responded “I think this is out of our price range”. After further deliberation and some reflection Ashley remembered their trip to Sahara Sam’s that they were able to take due to Kristy winning a gift card from One Simple Wish at the Big’s recognition dinner. Ashley and Kristy talked about the fun they had racing up the steps and floating on the Lazy River and splashing away from their troubles! Ashley remembered this as “the best day ever”. Since their initial trip they have been able to return once and Ashley was able to overcome her fear of the dark slide and now eagerly waits to return and try the slide again.
