Help Gretchen Get Into Law School!

Posted Aug 23, 2017
Gretchen* aged out of foster care two years ago. Since graduating from college, she's worked in DC to improve the foster care system. She has wanted to become an attorney since she was young, but never thought she could because she didn't know anyone like her who had become an attorney. But her time in DC has shown her that lawyers come from all walks of life, and she's even met former foster youth who have gone on to become lawyers! The biggest hurdle is the LSAT. It is tough and she really needs a prep course to do well. Her diagnostic score is 145, and with a prep class, she can absolutely increase her score by at least 10 points, which she needs to get into her dream schools. This wish is for the prep course, which costs $1,395. She is truly passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable children, especially children in foster care. She's also passionate about civil liberties, especially the First Amendment and issues of censorship. She was a member of her university's Mock Trial team for four years, was a founding member of the Philosophy Society, and majored in political theory. Gretchen says, "It would mean the difference between me going and not going to law school. Because of my poor concentration and anxiety that comes form my PTSD, it's incredibly difficult to study alone. A prep class will give me structure, and then I can supplement my self study with homework, class time, meeting with my instructor. I will take advantage of everything this prep class has to offer, because I am so committed to doing well on the LSAT!"
