A laptop for Maria who is trying hard in school!

Although Maria is in tutoring and gets extra help at school, she is still struggling particularly with reading and math. She would like to have a laptop to be able to access free on-line tutoring programs that are sometimes in a “game” format, and therefore, make learning more fun. Anything that makes learning less “painful” would be helpful to Maria.
Maria is 17 years old and lives in NC
Maria has started middle school this year and is in the 6th grade. She is a sweet young lady, pretty, and funny. She is a very typical pre-teen into clothes and hair and all things “girlie”. She attends church with her foster mother and sibling, sings in the chorus at her school, and has just begun participating in Girl Scouts. Maria enjoys swimming at the YMCA and loved going to a week-long overnight camp this past summer. She is a very social child who makes friends easily. She is a marginal student, but has shown a good deal of growth since coming into foster care. She participates in tutoring in both reading and math two days per week after school.
