Kyria is a teen mom currently living in a group home that allows her to have her baby (now almost 2). Kyria has suffered abuse at both in her home and at the hands of her boyfriend. Her current living situation is providing her with hope for the future (she wants to go college!) and all the services she needs to recover from trauma she has experienced. She is very bright, loves to read and adores her beautiful little girl. While she struggles with typical teenage angst, she remains devoted and loving to her child. The staff at her group home continually praise her natural maternal instincts and the love and care she show her little girl. She is junior in high school, but should be a senior. She is working extra hard to make up for missed schooling that occurred before she was placed in DSS custody.
