Maalik and the family do not have a TV currently to keep them busy. The mother is very ill and having something to occupy them when she is having bad days would help the family out a lot. There is a concern for the family that they may be entering foster care due to their mother being unable to care for them. The TV is more than just a luxury, its an escape from what is going on.
Maalik is 19 years old and lives in FL
Maalik is special because he is being raised in a family with a very special mother. Maalik worries constantly about his mother’s health and often has difficulty managing because of his worries and anxieties. There is also a concern that he may be placed in foster care should his mother not be able to care for him and his siblings.
