A new laptop for Nick who dreams of becoming a surgeon

Posted Jan 29, 2018
Nick is asking for a laptop to help him with his studies. He is very motivated to do well as he wants to apply to medical school after college. His goal is to become a surgeon in order to operate on his mother as she has health issues, especially with her back. Nick believes if he can alleviate his mother's pain, she would no longer turn to drugs for relief.

Nick is 21 years old and lives in NJ

Nick is very social and personable and is putting forth a great effort to do well in his foster home and in school. Unfortunately, Nick’s parents are unable to care for him due to substance abuse. He worries about his mother and her medical needs. Nick has decided he wants to become a surgeon. Nick’s grades have improved since he was placed in his current foster home. Nick is motivated to become healthier by working out daily and eating healthier. He has gained some much needed weight while with his foster mother. According to his foster mom he is well behaved and is adjusting to the house rules well. Nick does worry about the status of his biological mother often, but his overall attitude is strong and positive.

"Nick, I am both a surgeon and a foster parent. There is nothing better than being able to help someone, whether it's me getting a computer for you, or you helping patients when YOU become a surgeon. Its a long road, but well worth it. I'm in practice for 40 years, and still love what I do. Best of luck !!!!!"
