Katelynn attended the Tea Room with her Big Sister when she was 10 years old. To this day she still says it's one of her favorite things she has done. Katelynn was very quiet during the first tea but she really was loving it and just taking it all in. She wants to go again to relive one of her favorite outings. The New Leaf Tea House is a Victorian Tea House where you can dress up and wear one of the many hats they provide. Katelynn had a blast picking out and trying on the hats before the tea. The tea helps Katelynn experience new things and also allows her an escape from her day to day struggles.
Katelynn is 22 years old and lives in NJ
Katelynn lives at home with her Mom and 4 Siblings. With a house hold as big as Katelynn's, her Mom wants Katelynn to feel comfortable in her own living space, be able to express herself without feeling closed in. Katelynn's Mom is trying to make ends meet as a single parent but sometimes faces challenges. Katelynn has come a long way emotionally, socially and academically at times having to face challenges many people don't encounter.

"Hi - Katelynn recently went to the New Leaf Tea Room, she noted her thanks for the gift certificate. Katelynn enjoyed it very much and attended with her Big Sister, though Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence, as a way to celebrate their 9th anniversary as a Big and Little Match. They both loved all the finger sandwiches and Katelynn’s favorite was the cucumber sandwich. The desserts and teas were delicious too. It was a very special experience for them both.
