Janiya has been in foster care for over five years and this is the first year that she has been at the same school for two consecutive years. With her moving from one school to another, she has not had the opportunity to make friends. She is now making friends and is happy. Her friends at school are joining the basketball team and she wants to join the basketball team with them.
Janiya is 16 years old and lives in NC
Janiya is in the 4th grade. She has been in the court system several years. Janiya is a delightful child. She is in a stable environment and is thriving in her current placement. She loves to read and really wants to improve her reading skills. When she is not reading, she loves to draw. When she grows up, she wants to be either an artist or a teacher.
