Tatiana is an NJFC Scholar currently attending William Paterson University. Tatiana was in and out of foster homes up until she was 4 or 5, when she was finally thought she found her forever home. Unfortunately, what she thought was a new beginning – a new family – was actually unsafe and Tatiana spent high school being moved around from place to place. Through hard work, determination, and self-advocacy, Tatiana graduated high school and was accepted into William Patterson University. The hard times didn’t stop, though, and trying to afford school is a lot of stress on her shoulders. Despite hardships, Tatiana continues to focus on pursuing her academic goals. Currently a junior, Tatiana is studying to get her degree in Psychology and Disability and Women Gender Studies minor. She wants to make her career around advocating for foster care and adoption and individuals with disabilites and to make sure that no one else has to do it alone; that is truly her hobbies and interest.
