A Trip to Illinois for Shayla to meet her father

Shayla’s biological father lives in Illinois. She would love to be able to go visit with him and re-connect. Due to some inconsistent stories Shayla, never expressed interest in seeing her father until recently. Since learning Shayla was placed in care, her father has played an active role, and been a vital part of her success via phone. Shayla has been working hard to save her allowance to help fund an airline ticket to travel to Illinois for the reunion they both deserve. We would love to support this amazing opportunity for a father and his daughter to create an unbreakable bond!
Shayla is 23 years old and lives in CA
Since being in care Shayla has made monumental progress throughout the past year. She has entered into a finishing high school, worked extremely hard and managed to collect 80 credits thus far. Shayla is on the road to graduate in fall of 2019. She has begun learning to cook and ride the bus without assistance. Shayla is interested in pursuing a career in the arts and currently reviewing colleges in the next couple years. Her foster parents speak volumes of her resilience and persistence throughout her journey.
