Jake will be retained from the 3rd grade due to his lack of knowledge of basic concepts. It would be helpful for him to complete summer school, but the school is not offering summer school due to budget cuts. The county stated tutoring would be requested for Jake, but tutoring is typically one hour per week. Jake needs more academic resources than what is provided. Barnes and Noble has an excellent collection of diverse academic resources that could help Jake learn the beginning sounds of the alphabet and to count.
Jake is 14 years old and lives in CA
Jake is an adorable child. He tries his best even when he is not able to complete a desired goal. Currently, he loves school despite the challenges to grasp basic concepts such as counting and beginning sounds of the letters.
