From Jeanettee: "I lose my Ancestry DNA Membership on the 23rd, and I've been helping several adoptees/former foster children with their DNA searching, so I'd hate to lose my membership and have to stop helping them. I am also still searching for my own family, so it does benefit me as well of course." We would love to help Jeanettee continue helping those around her by providing important details to their history as well as hers!
Janettee is 41 years old and lives in OK
Janettee, who spent 12 years in foster care before aging out in 2000, now raises awareness of the plight of current and former foster children. Her own experiences of homelessness following aging out has led her to mentor and support other aging out/recently aged out youth in the hopes of helping them avoid that fate. She is a frequent guest on foster care blogs, has authored several poems, blogs, and articles, and is currently writing her autobiography. She also enjoys genealogy, and is currently trying to use DNA to unravel her family tree, which generations of foster care and adoption have made very difficult. Janettee is a SAHM to two children, as well as a bio mom whose oldest child was placed for adoption while she was suffering from homelessness.
