Yolanda had been in foster care since a very young age. After aging out of the foster system, she struggled with homelessness, but has finally been able to secure her very first apartment with her young children. A Sense of Home is helping Yolanda furnish her entire home, but she still needs a fridge. The lack of a fridge is causing Yolanda significant hardship with respect to meal planning and providing a healthy diet to her young children. A basic fridge will enable Yolanda to purchase and store fresh food, helping her overcome the challenge of living without an essential home appliance. With a new fridge Yolanda will be able to focus more on her full time college studies. Yolanda is working toward becoming a social workers - to ensure that children in need are provided the care they need.
Yolanda is 25 years old and lives in CA
After exiting the foster care system, Yolanda had nowhere to go and struggled for quite sometime with homelessness. She has finally been able to secure a home for her self and her young children. She is going to college full-time and studying to become a social worker. She is working to give a high quality life not only to her children but children everywhere who are in need, are struggling and often ignored.
