New Shoes for Will's Perseverance

Sports have given William motivation to be better in school. He went from missing over 20 days of school down to only missing 3 this last year. He has worked extremely hard to bring up his grades and keep them up to be able to play sports at his high school. William has had great determination and perseverance this last year to obtain his goals. William would like to buy a new pair of Nike shoes as a "pat on the back" for all of his hard work in sports and school. This gift would give William the continuous encouragement to continue in sports and bettering himself in his academics.
William is 19 years old and lives in CA
William is an athletic young man. He loves all sports, but especially track and field. Being part of sports in school was difficult at first because he was extremely behind in school. When Will first came to our agency, he had a tendency of skipping classes. Since entering high school, he has worked diligently with school staff and his resource parents to catch up and keep his grades up to be eligible to play sports. This year, William was able to try out for track and field at his high school. Will won a medal in almost every category he participated in. William left his Sophomore year of high school with a 3.5 GPA and has a goal of completing his Junior year with a 4.0.
