From Lindsey: "My childhood was interesting. As a young girl, I believed I had a great life. We didn't have much; but I didn't realize it until I was old enough to understand money. My mother remarried when I was 13 and her husband moved us to the suburbs - Lake Worth, TX. I learned money is not everything. He was a drug addict; soon after, my mother was one too. He became abusive and my mother became a shadow. She was physically there, but mentally gone. Shortly after my 14th birthday, my stepdad became more violent. In one of his rages he knocked me on the floor and kicked me in my face - chipping my tooth. I still smile with my mouth closed to this day; unless my fiance is taking the picture because he thinks I'm beautiful no matter what. I went into foster care a few weeks later. After I turned 18, I dropped out of high school and got my GED. My dream was to travel the world, so I became flight attendant. However, I now want to further my education for my children. I made the honor roll at my college and will graduate at the end of this year."
