New Clothes for Aby to wear to Sleep Away Camp

Aby is attending a special summer camp program in August, which will allow her to see a sibling she has been separated from while in foster care. She does not have swimming layers, and is also missing some essentials for chilly evenings like sweatpants, a windbreaker, and closed toed shoes. This gift will help her be warm, comfortable, and clean - and leave her more prepared for similar clothing needs that will arise when the school year starts and seasons change.

Aby is a witty, talented teenage girl. Some of her happiest memories are with her sibling. Unfortunately, she has been living in a separate home from her sibling since a foster placement change, but this summer she is looking forward to being reunited with her sibling at Camp To Belong Maine.

We'll be talking about what every day will look like, and will also review a packing list. If she doesn't own something on the list, our staff will quietly note color preferences, sizing, etc. and purchase the missing items (a sleeping bag, a bathing suit, etc) and have them waiting for her on her bunk bed when she arrives. Part of the camp experience is lots of photo taking, so that she and her siblings can make and take home albums as an end-of-camp activity.
