Sibling reunification camp for Tyler who is excited to see his younger sister

Posted Jun 25, 2019
Tyler was separated from his younger sister when they were taken into foster care. Camp To Belong is a one week program that will reunite Tyler with his sister for fun nights of sharing cabin stories, roasting s'mores, swimming and fishing together, archery, a rock wall, etc. Campers are treated to dance parties, talent night, and a full scale carnival right at the camp. All campers are sibling sets who have been separated while in foster care, who understand and support each other. Camp To Belong will be particularly important for Tyler and his sister this summer, who missed each others' birthdays and will get the opportunity to celebrate belatedly (complete with presents and cake) while at Camp.

Tyler is 15 years old and lives in ME

Tyler is an energetic older sibling who is wonderful at modeling a happy outlook when he is with his siblings. He is currently separated from his younger sister as a result of geographically diverse kinship care placements. He is looking forward to celebrating his and his sister's spring birthdays belatedly (and catching up on other memories as well) at Camp To Belong Maine this summer.

Tyler receives the gift from Camp to Belong Maine!

""Dear awesome person, thank you so much for granting this wish for Tyler! Our volunteer team is meeting with him and his siblings this month to prepare for the camp week. We'll be talking about what every day will look like, and will also review a packing list. If he doesn't own something on the list, our staff will quietly note color preferences, sizing, etc. and purchase the missing items (a sleeping bag, a bathing suit, etc) and have them waiting for him on her bunk bed when he arrives. Part of the camp experience is lots of photo taking, so that Tyler and his siblings can make and take home albums as an end-of-camp activity. While most of the photos aren't publicly shareable due to privacy, please feel free to find Camp To Belong Maine on Facebook after August because we will share the photos that we can, on our Facebook page!""
