Jimmy has been "in the system" for the majority of his life. His mother struggles with drug addiction. His father has been incarcerated since Jimmy was very young. Jimmy was in a foster home that planned to adopt him since they'd had him for 3 years. Unfortunately, when Jimmy came out as bisexual, his pre-adoptive family decided not to adopt him, and in fact asked that he be removed from their home. Understandably, he went downhill fast and was recently placed in a locked facility where he is receiving close monitoring and specialized treatment. The silver lining (if there is one) is that he finally feels free to be himself, as he has been hiding his sexuality for a long time. He has two older sisters, who he rarely sees because his facility is so far away, but they are both very supportive of him and call often.
