A Trip to Disneyland for Parker who loves to give back to his community

Posted Nov 11, 2019
Parker has never been to Disneyland. He has asked to go but the logistics never work out. His foster mom would love to be able to provide him that experience and let him know that there is an entire community that wants to make foster and adopted children feel special and important. They spend time helping others and he loves collecting cans to give to the gentleman that walks down our street to find them. He also saves his money to buy bread and feed the ravens near their home. We would love to surprise Parker with a trip to Disneyland, somewhere he has always wanted to go!

Parker is 14 years old and lives in CA

Parker likes Spider-Man, soccer, rock collecting, astronauts, and cats. He has spent the majority of his life in care. He was in foster care from infancy until 2 years old to return to the biological family for 10 months then re-enter care. He has since been in care for 6 years. He came to my home 15 months ago as my first foster child and I was determined to be his last stop. With both of us refusing to give up we got into a rhythm that works and now the adoption is being finalized! He has been in 5 previous foster homes with 2 of them telling him that they were adopting him for it to ultimately not work out. He talks often about wanting to go to college and is a straight A student they often performs 1-2 grades higher in all subjects. He currently wants to be geologist and spends some time every day looking for different rocks to add to his collection.
