James has been in foster care since he was an infant and moved into his very first apartment a few months ago. Although he has been in his new space for a few months, he has still not been able to save enough money to purchase a fridge. Between school and transportation costs, he is left with hardly enough money to survive each month. James is often left eating fast food meals, but having a fridge would allow him to purchase and prepare more nutritious food that he can store in the fridge.
James is 24 years old and lives in CA
James was in foster care since he was an infant. Over his entire childhood he has been with 7 families. The lack of consistency in his care has effected him quite a bit, but he is now on a solid track towards a lifetime of success. He is enrolled full time at a university and works part time. He is studying to eventually become an attorney and in the meantime makes ends meet with a job on campus.
