Jeffrey Brown entered foster care at the age of 3. After being placed in 3 different homes, he was adopted by the Brown family at the age of 13. He started doing a one man play titled Th3 Adopt3d On3, to share his story about the complexities and struggles of a young black man in the foster care system through the adoption process. It took Jeffrey many years to break his silence to even reveal that he was adopted. He now understands that he has to use his story to be the vessel for others to heal and share their stories. His hope is to encourage other youth to openly talk about their trials, tribulations, and victories through foster care, and to normalize the conversation surrounding foster care and adoption through foster care. Esperanza is having a difficult time coming to terms with her current situation and needs to understand that she is not alone in her feelings and emotions. By granting this wish you are providing Esperanza the opportunity to understand her situation and learn new tactics and skills needed to better her life.
