Elijah is in tremendous need of his own laptop. He uses a school-issued laptop, but is unable to access many crucial websites necessary for applying for scholarships and colleges. The school's firewall prohibits or significantly hinders his application process. He is unable to email college representatives, unable to save his scholarship essays, or communicate effectively, including sharing essay documents, with his college prep coach. A new laptop will change Elijah's quality of life as it pertains to completing applications more effectively. He currently uses his smartphone to check his personal email account where most of the colleges/universities reach out to him, which slows his progress, causing him to overlook critical information. Once he graduates, he will have to immediately turn in his school laptop and will no longer have access to his school email account. Having his own laptop will allow him to continue engaging in his college prep process without interruptions. He is an honor student who is well-deserving of this wish. He is hardworking and would treat his own laptop with extreme care. Not to mention, he will use this laptop in college. If Elijah's wish for a laptop is granted, he would be ecstatic! He would be able to complete his college assignments, maintain communication with his professors, especially in a virtual learning environment, and it would attribute to his overall academic success. In short, this wish would ensure he would thrive in college!
