Shoes to empower Justice!

Posted Nov 10, 2021
Growing up Justice always played basketball with her brothers. Unfortunately, she was unable to purchase her own basketball shoes and had to always use her brother’s shoes. Having her own pair of colorful basketball shoes will make her feel a sense of belonging, being that she can actually play knowing these shoes represent her individuality. This will also allow for her to feel a sense of connection with her brothers being that they aren’t exactly in contact with her right now. Justice is looking forward to joining her high school basketball team and wearing her brother’s old number on her jersey. As a young black girl interested in basketball, Justice has often faced challenges because basketball is a male dominant sport. Overall, these shoes will empower Justice to not change who she is and embrace her family, culture, and athleticism.

Justice is 19 years old and lives in CA

Justice is a focused individual striving become great. During her free time she likes to skate, braid hair and talk with friends. A perfect day for Justice would be skating down Venice beach with an acai bowl, listening to good music, and enjoying the beauty of nature. She views skating as a way to let her feelings out and to have some alone time. Skating is important to her because she grew up doing it with her sisters and it’s something they can all value together. Although she is currently in foster care, she finds her way to express her gratitude and love to those around her. She allows loves going to school and excelling academically.
