Dakota has been in the foster care system since she was eight, along with her two siblings, a younger sister and a brother with autism. They moved in and out of foster homes due to many different circumstances. In some cases, it was not a good fit, and abuse did occur in other cases. When they were placed back with family, they were once again abused. On the brighter side, Dakota is finally in a placement where she is very comfortable and happy. She and her younger sister were placed together and are very close to the foster parents. Dakota is ready to look toward her future and dreams of attending college to become a social worker.
