Van is a delightful and high-energy little boy. In school, he rushes through his work but is obsessed with reading and writing. He is working below grade level but tries hard and is challenged by focusing on problems. Van is very loving and tender-hearted and enjoys imaginative play. He is an emotional child who is very close to his mother but is frustrated over their irregular visits. He tells everyone he wants to be a policeman when he grows up because they help people!
