About Aliyah

Aliyah is 20 years old and lives in NJ

Aliyah came to Hope for Pregnant Teens when she was just 15 years old. She was a teenage mom and her baby boy was born with special needs when she was only 26 weeks pregnant. But Aliyah was determined to make things work. She enrolled her son in a special needs school, went back to high school, and tried to reconcile with her mom and grandma. She lived in a group home and had supervised visits with her son, but she also started therapy and joined group sessions with other teen moms. She worked hard to gain life and parenting skills and even attended workshops to develop more skills. Finally, Aliyah graduated from high school during the pandemic and walked across the stage with her son Quincy to get her diploma. She moved out of the group home and into her own apartment, where she started college to become a nurse. Now, she's a mom of two kids, ages 4 and 1, and although it's not always easy taking care of her son with special needs, she manages to attend college and work two part-time jobs. She budgets her expenses and makes sure her kids are healthy and happy. Aliyah has a positive attitude and only asks for help when she's really tried everything else.
