Tommy, 8 years old, OR

Tommy's family has faced many challenges. His mother was abused by her father, which led to Tommy's birth. This trauma affected her mental health, making it hard for her to care for Tommy, so his grandmother took custody when he was just 4 months old. Tommy has struggled with swallowing, which caused him to choke and experience failure to thrive, but these issues are now being treated by specialists at a children's hospital. He has been diagnosed with autism and ADHD and has a history of running away, which raises safety concerns. Tommy is very close to his grandmother and experiences separation anxiety when they're apart. Despite these challenges, he is a loving and caring little boy who can be very helpful when he's engaged in activities he enjoys.
