Darnella is a resilient and determined young woman whose journey through the foster care system began early in her life. Growing up without a consistent or reliable support system, she learned to navigate the world largely on her own. Even after aging out of foster care, she continued to face instability in her family relationships, yet she remains committed to building a stable future for herself. What makes Darnella unique is her perseverance; despite the challenges she has faced, she pushes forward, seeks support when needed, and shows up for herself in meaningful ways. She enjoys self-care, expressing herself through beauty and creativity, and loves getting her nails done, focusing on her hair and skin care, and doing little things that boost her confidence. Currently, Darnella works and is exploring the possibility of taking on a second job while planning to return to school next year, demonstrating her drive to create new opportunities for herself.
