Kasim Lee has been in foster care for over five years. After multiple placement disruptions, he left foster care and couch surfed for over a year before returning to care. He has learned from his decisions and has earned his care team's approval to be placed in his own community apartment. He uses every opportunity to share his story with those who are new to foster care and is now seen as a role model to other foster youth. Kasim just moved into his transitional living apartment on 12/18/25 and is beyond grateful to have his own space to call home. Kasim enjoys watching television, spending time with friends, and reading. He has not yet considered a career path, but will be exploring career paths with his Case Manager. For now, his immediate goal is to enroll in classes to earn his high school diploma, which was put on hold until he located stable housing.
