The Guardian Scholars Program provides a network of resources to students who are aging out or emancipating from the foster care system to facilitate their successful pursuit of higher education. The program draws on the resources, strength, and support of our community to provide scholars (aged 16-25) with a comprehensive college experience and the opportunity to explore and realize their full potential. The program draws on the resources, strength, and support of our community to provide scholars (aged 16-25) with a comprehensive college experience and the opportunity to explore and realize their full potential. Staffed by a small group of committed volunteers, the program offers each scholar a network of material and emotional support, including year-round housing, mentoring, mental health support, and financial assistance and counseling. In addition, our Guardian Scholars join mentors and staff for family style dinners on a monthly basis, as well as several team building activities throughout the year. These youth are remarkable for their courage, tenacity, and talent. They are among the 2% of emancipated youth who will earn a 4-year college degree.
