City Living NYNivea is a former foster youth and staunch advocate for change in the foster care system. She has a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling and works full time for the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene as a peer advocate. Nivea was in foster care from birth, entering directly from the hospital. She works hard to ensure others have a better experience in care than she did.
The holidays can be a tough time of year for youth who experienced foster care. Nivea aged out of foster care, which means she does not even have the support of the former agency and the system overall. As a young mother, she also prioritizes providing a special holiday for her child. Please help Nivea purchase a special treat for herself this holiday season!
