Preferred Behavioral Health GroupAstrid has been in foster care since age 16. Her mother and younger sisters still live in Guatemala and immigration lawyers are working on bringing them to the US. Astrid is here to get an education; she came to this country not speaking any English. She is a senior in high school and plans to attend community college in the fall. Despite a traumatic upbringing, Astrid is kind and smiles a lot. She enjoys music and her pet rabbit, Snowball.
Astrid is going to college! She plans on majoring in criminal justice to help others. As she finishes her senior year of high school, this laptop will help her apply for scholarships, and then she will be able to use it in the fall to attend classes and do assignments. She has overcome a lot in her life so far and is excited to start her next adventure!
