Book Club book for Alanna who wants to empower her girlfriends to be strong women

Alanna and her friends are at an age where they are starting to have romantic relationships, however, they are struggling with being hyper-focused on boys. This book discusses feminist concepts based around existing outside of the male gaze, forming strong bonds with friends as a priority, and developing healthy self-concepts. Alanna and 3 of her friends in our mentorship program would greatly benefit from being able to do this book club!
Alanna is 17 years old and lives in CO
Alanna is a bright, outgoing young person who loves to spend time with her friends and siblings. Alanna has been in foster care for most of her life. Unfortunately, due to recent loss of a caretaker, she was forced to live separately from her three siblings. Alanna struggles with loneliness at times, but tries her best to remain positive. She takes advantage of any time she is able to spend with her siblings, including face-time just to keep up with them.
