La Rya is asking for supplies to help her showcase her wig installs. She will be able to use photos and videos from these to build a portfolio to apply for schools. For La Rya, this is more than just a career. It is a celebration of her culture and the skills she watched and learned from her bio mom at a very young age. She will carry skills with her and practice for a lifetime, not just for others but also for herself, to carry on a tradition of pride and self-care.
La Rya is 19 years old and lives in CA
La Rya has been through more than anyone should have to endure, especially a child. Despite being bounced from home to home from a very young age and throughout her teen years, she is stabilizing and shining living with her aunt and brother. La Rya is working very hard and showing up every day to finish high school.
