A Vortex machine for Eliza to do more complex science experiments

Elisa, 19 years old

Voices for Children - San Diego

Elisa entered foster care in 2014, along with her two older siblings. She has been in sixteen placements since her removal. Elisa's mother is unable to care for her and her father is out of the picture. Elisa is a very sweet seventeen year old girl who is very curious about the world around her. Her curiosity drives her to dig deeper into understanding why things are the way they are and to use her knowledge to make things better in the world. She’s a very analytical thinker. She spends her time trying to really understand things. For example, she can tell you how fire alarms work, how many different types of fire alarms there are, whether it’s for commercial use or in home use, and where on the wall each one should hang for the best outcome should a fire occur. She could probably also install it for you.

After much consideration, Elisa is requesting a Vortex machine. She says she is going to use the Vortex mixer to mix chemicals together more efficiently. She says the reviews written about it are well written, detailed and show pictures and videos of the machine. She already has a high powered microscope and a laptop she uses for scientific experiments, and says this machine will help her complete more complex experiments in her AP science class and her after school STEM program.
