Mia is a gentle and kind young woman who loves making others feel welcome. She possesses a strong, quiet spirit that has helped her navigate every challenge since aging out of foster care. Mia enjoys making jewelry and spending time with friends. She lost her mother when she was 6 years old which is how she ended up in the foster care system. She is now a mother herself, and she is filled with excitement about giving her daughter the life she wasn’t able to have while growing up.

Mia is a single mom of a 2-year-old, working so hard in every area of her life with intention. For the last three years, she has been focusing on school, healing her trauma, growing spiritually, and learning healthy parenting, all while working part-time in a non-profit, helping others to do the same. Mia always takes care of others and prioritizes her daughter. She gets very little support from her child's father, and she can not count on her family to help her daughter. She is intentionally seeking relationships with other single moms and people who are going in the same direction she is. She has made hard choices to change friends and leave behind a family who is not healthy for her in order to break this cycle. This is all really hard work! Mia has found a supportive online community of single moms where she is intentionally trying to connect and create a new system of support for her and her young daughter. This community is hosting a 2-day retreat that offers them the opportunity to meet in person, relax, connect, and learn healthy parenting skills. This would be an opportunity for the connection she desperately needs and would give her a chance to take care of herself. This would allow her to get some much-needed rest and for her to renew herself so she can continue in her healing journey to be the best parent and person she can be. Mia needs to get signed up soon so that she can reserve her spot.
