Mia is a gentle and kind young woman who loves making others feel welcome. She possesses a strong, quiet spirit that has helped her navigate every challenge since aging out of foster care. Mia enjoys making jewelry and spending time with friends. She lost her mother when she was 6 years old which is how she ended up in the foster care system. She is now a mother herself, and she is filled with excitement about giving her daughter the life she wasn’t able to have while growing up.

Mia is a hardworking single mom. She is in therapy, goes to school, works a job, is active in organizations that offer help to others, and is doing everything she can to make a better life for herself and her child. She will be attending a conference in Maryland for single mothers where she will learn from parenting experts, connect with other single moms, and will be given the opportunity to take care of herself. The conference is for two nights, Sept. 6-8, and she will need a place to stay. Staying at the hotel where the conference is being held will save her additional costs, such as Uber to and from the hotel.
