Freddie is a kind-hearted, special boy who has been in the foster care system for years. He was removed from his biological parents due to drug abuse and neglect. He was placed in foster care by himself without any of his siblings. Freddie awaited approval to be placed with his distant female cousin, her husband, and their children. Freddie struggled during the time he was with other foster families as he never felt like he fit in. Freddie longed for family connection and hardly ever got to see his parents due to their issues with reliable transportation. Freddie was on track to finally reunify with his father when his father suddenly passed away. This further traumatized him, and he felt even more alone. After waiting for over a year to be placed with his cousin, he was finally able to be placed in her home. Freddie's cousin and her husband finally signed adoption papers for him. Freddie has been waiting several years to get out of the foster care system and feel like a "normal kid".
