Derrick is an amazing young man who is having a hard time adjusting to going into foster care. Derrick has remained hopeful, and is trying to stay focused. He is very quiet and does not talk to many people, and it takes him a very long time to relax and speak to people. Derrick is having a hard time finding friends, but is trying his best to reach out and make connections.

Derrick has a deep passion for music, often using his favorite songs as an escape from the stresses of daily life. Whether he’s feeling overwhelmed by schoolwork or simply needs to unwind, music brings him both solace and joy. Many of his friends sport stylish AirPods, effortlessly enjoying their music while at the park, during workouts, or while studying. Inspired by their convenience and the freedom from tangled wires, he dreams of having his own set of AirPods, allowing him to carry his fav tunes with him wherever he goes and helping him feel more connected to his peers.
