A double stroller for Maria to safely transport her boys around town
Maria, 18 years old
Wish submitted by:
Voices for Children - San DiegoMaria's mother left her when she was in middle school, forcing her to navigate life on her own. Since then, she has worked incredibly hard to provide for her family. Maria is currently taking parenting classes and is also working towards returning to school. She is an amazing and strong young woman who remains loving and open to learning, despite the many challenges she has faced. Maria takes excellent care of her boys and is dedicated to stabilizing their lives.
Maria is a mother of two boys, aged 3 and 1, who is requesting a double stroller. She is learning to navigate single parenthood and is taking on all the responsibilities of a young adult. Maria relies on public transportation for doctor appointments. Grocery stores and laundry facilities are within walking distance, but she needs to cross busy streets that intersect with bus and trolley routes, making it a hectic area. Currently, she has a single stroller for her 1-year-old son, but her 3-year-old has a tendency to run off. Maria is requesting a double stroller to help her safely walk to the grocery store and laundry facilities. This will also make it easier for her to reach doctor appointments.
