A New Kindle for Michelle to keep her books with her everywhere she goes

Michelle, 12 years old

Wish submitted by:

CA DCFS - Los Angeles County

Michelle is a very sweet, caring child girl who has suffered through so much loss at a very young age. Michelle was removed from her parents and then suffered the loss of her guardian, whom she grew to love and care for. Soon, Michelle will be moving to a different city to live with her aunt, whom she is still getting to know. Michelle has been so strong, and despite her challenges, she has maintained a sweet and loving character.

Michelle was recently placed in a different county and couldn't bring all of her books with her. She loves to read and often distracts herself by imagining she is in the world of the book she is reading. Michelle told her social worker that she feels sad about not being able to take her books to her new placement because she had to prioritize bringing her essentials, such as clothing and hygiene products. With a Kindle, Michelle would be able to carry her books with her wherever she goes, ensuring that she won't have to leave them behind like she did during her last placement.
