Jessica is an incredible young mother of two children. Her dream is to pursue a career in clinical social work, allowing her to help those in need. She is a member of the Social Work Honors Society and, in addition to her studies, works part-time as an intern at the Department of Mental Health. During her free time, Jessica volunteers at nonprofit organizations that support Transitional Age Youth. She also enjoys finding fun activities to do with her children!

Jessica is on the cusp of turning her passion for service into a lifelong career. After earning her Master’s in Social Work, she is working toward becoming a licensed clinical social worker so she can support individuals and communities in need, especially those who, like her, have faced life in the foster care system. As a former foster youth, Jessica knows firsthand how vital it is to have someone who understands, advocates, and cares. She’s determined to be that person for others, but she needs your help to take her next step. Jessica’s wish is for assistance in covering the cost of her required background checks with the FBI and the California Department of Justice (DOJ)—a mandatory part of the process to register as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW) with the Board of Behavioral Sciences. These checks are essential for moving forward, but they come at a cost she’s struggling to manage on her own. Granting this wish will help launch her career and make a lasting difference in the lives of others.
