Odilas spent 5 years in foster care and lived in 10 different homes. Despite facing deep trauma in her childhood—including domestic violence, neglect, and being a young mother in foster care—she overcame incredible obstacles through years of therapy, personal growth, and faith. Being active in church and building a relationship with God gave her strength and hope, especially during the most challenging times. Although she lacked supportive foster homes and life skill training, she found comfort in motherhood, makeup, movies, and the small joys that helped her feel grounded. Her journey proves that healing is possible and encourages current foster youth to stay hopeful, reminding them they have the power to build the family and future they deserve.

Odalis is requesting a television to enjoy watching TV shows and movies with her child after long days. This gift would allow her to have some time for herself while also providing fun and educational shows for her son.
